Weather and feelings
These past couple winters I think I've really realized how much winter affects me. It affects a lot of people obviously but, at least personally, I didn't really notice it until recently. I think being in Chicago for a year and coming back was what did it. Not the Chicago winters but the coming back and being in a routine of going out and doing things again combined with COVID effectively locking down one of the winters.
Weirdly, I enjoyed my winter in Chicago. A city faced with that kind of cold regularly doesn't shut down as easily I think. New York is still open too but they have more reason to be as it's not nearly as cold. Chicago prides itself on being open while still admitting their windy winters are brutal.
Either way, now that summer is here, I'm feeling far more lively. Life is happening and there's places to go and people to see!
