Life always converges

Does anyone else always feel like major life changes seem to end up coinciding with larger worldly events? It's something that seems to happen to me constantly whether it's holidays or major news or a pandemic. Everything always seems to happen all at once.

My reason for writing this is the most obvious example. This week I closed on and moved into a whole new apartment, Roe v. Wade was struck down, and it's Pride Weekend in New York. It's not the only time this has happened though. Just as the pandemic was setting in and my company shifted to working from home indefinitely, I had a falling out with a close friend. Before that, I was moving into a new place in Chicago during their Pride Weekend. And even further before back, I was getting details on a unique study abroad opportunity I was chosen for while an active shooter scare was happening at my college. Those are just the examples I can remember right now but I know there have been others.

It sounds pretty solipsistic, I know, but I can't help but notice it. It's just... weird how it seems to happen pretty regularly. When it's not happening, my life is pretty quiet. I practically get sick of people asking "how're things" and me having nothing (or something boring/work-related) to respond with.
