And now it's over (Summer post mortem)

Haven't posted here since the beginning of summer but figured maybe it's time for a little update. Today was the last day of summer "officially" and honestly I'm pretty ready for it to be. Fall in the northeast is so calming and, provided it doesn't rain too much, I get to wear all the fun jackets I have stuffed away in the front closet (plus my favorite "numbers" jacket that's for special occasions).

It's also simultaneously Apple™ season and apple season. A nice software upgrade in tow and lots of time to go roaming in the woods. Maybe to an orchard or two. Hikes abound... Though not this weekend as San Gennaro distracted my boyfriend and friends. It was insanely crowded but the food was spectacular. Eventually we'll get up to a hike somewhere relatively nearby before it really gets cold. Though I wouldn't mind that for the sake of my jackets getting used :)

Summer was also very hectic. August I was traveling every single weekend either a couple hours by car or even longer on a plane. When I wasn't traveling this summer, weekends were packed with a heavy social calendar just going out to eat or doing specific things with people. It was effectively capped off with a trip to France. A net-positive trip with some real low points namely my dog passing away while he stayed with my parents and forcing myself to see Versailles while having a stomach bug (which was short-lived at least). The trip itself ended with a scramble out of the country too thanks to our airline taking a plane out of service and forcing us to an earlier flight. The roaming and dinners and late nights with friends were a lot of fun - making up for most of the unfortunate events of the rest of the trip.

All this to say I'm feeling positive about fall. Maybe hoping it's calmer. Maybe forcing it to be so. We'll see what's to come!
